A highly recommended read! Please give her some love and feedback; it’s a wonderful alternate universe of episodes 4-9!
So, that’ll be it for the translations, at least for a while, since Yasha is busy. Do you guys have any request on screencaps or art ideas?
"I’ll be able to take the next step with courage. I will change myself with this single step. That small reflection of courage will one day reach the spirit, too. The shape of the heart will keep changing. The shape of the world will also keep changing.
The world will become more beautiful. While reflecting this beautiful world, the spirit will become stronger. I will become stronger. I will join with everyone, and together with everyone…” —Yumemi; episode 9.
The first-half of the Drama CD is heading your way. Finally, an update, yeah? :D My friend was kind enough to do these for me, as well as a bunch of other translations. This is her disclaimer:
I, Yasha, have put in brackets several Japanese pop icon references or explanations that were mentioned during specific sentences. I have also put in some comments here and there to explain what is going on and why they are doing as such. I have also put in brackets where I have no clue what they are saying at that point or am just fairly confused in what is going on.
A/N: So… hello, Munto fandom. I know we’ve not really seen much eye-to-eye as of late, but life and writer’s block tends to get in the way of the whole creative outlet, so I receded any attempts of writing in order to keep my already fragile mind capable of a coherent thought process. However, being someone who constantly thinks up ideas and never actually goes forth with the ideas, I decided to break the mould and try to write something. As in, try and watch myself fail miserably at it. Truth be told, ever since my low marks in my AS English Literature course, I’ve been feeling less than confident that people thought my works to be satisfactory in terms of my writing abilities, much less actually able to tell a coherent, well-thought-out story with believably adapted characters from an already established canon storyline. I look back on some of my older works now and cringe; for I’ve never finished a single long-chaptered story, aside from a few others that were a disgrace to the old fandoms I was a part of. I’m not sure anyone will read this from the Munto fandom, and I don’t have many followers to begin with, but I truly hope I can at least garner some positive feedback with this story, as I’m only now putting an actual effort into trying to write again, and the positive feedback would really boost my courage into getting back into the swing of things. I know petty excuses don’t give me leeway for those who did enjoy and support my work over what… a year ago? It doesn’t excuse the fact that I didn’t complete any stories that had fans, but I’ll keep trying. Baby steps, right?
Story Summary: A slight re-write of the first scene with Munto reaching out to Yumemi, and her friends reaction to the event. It was meant to convey Yumemi’s emotional exhaustion, as implied in the series, she has heard voices and such in her head prior to Munto visiting her, and her friends ways of dealing with such.
